Sunday Inspiration: Tiny Journals

I have a bad habit of writing shopping lists, ideas for my blog, doctor appointments and random bits of information on scraps of paper I find laying around.  I'm trying to cure myself of this habit since it's easy to lose those important pieces of information and then you can't remember what time your appointment was or you lose that creative idea you had for your blog.  I'm remedying this sad situation by making tiny journals for the different areas of my life.  They provide a specific place to write my spring shopping list, ideas for my blog, my every growing to-do list.  Here's what you'll need for the project:
Magazine pages for images, scissors, tiny composition books, glue stick and clear Contact paper.
I bought my small size composition books at Family Dollar where they are sold three per pack.  To give you some ideas, here are some of the journals that I have made for my own use.
Spring Shopping List Journal.

Gratitude Journal.

Books I Want to Read List.

To-Do List.

Life Goals List.

Thrifty Resources and Products List.

After picking up your supplies, go through your old magazines and cut out pictures that go along with your theme.  Use your glue stick to apply these to the front and back of your journal.  After the journal dries, cut the clear Contact paper a little bigger than your cover.  Smooth the clear Contact paper over the cover, clip the corners to make an easy fold and fold the clear cover over the edges onto the inside of the journal.  You're done!

What kind of journals would be helpful for you?  A journal of blog ideas?  Notes from a book you are reading?  Or maybe one of the above examples?  Just say no to random scraps of paper and make a journal to hold your dreams...or at least your to-do list!

I love this idea! I'm always looking for good ideas to get organized and I absolutely *hate* scraps of paper. Thank you!

So clever, Miss Debbie! The only notebook I have in place is my prayer book and I didn't make it. Personalizing notebooks would be so much fun. If the Ohio River did not separate us, I would sit down with you (and your mama) and cut and glue to our heart's content.

Donna, I love making them; it is a lot of fun. Someday I hope to meet a lot of the friends I am making on here. Maybe there will be some Kentucky/Indiana/Ohio blogger thing once I get my three in college. That would be pretty cool.

I definitely need to get my blog ideas organized...the only notebook like this I have kept previously is one as a birthday book so I can keep track of every family member's birthday. You have a regular library of such journals.

I do the same thing (make notes on little scraps of paper)! And the worst is the phone numbers! Finding these little scraps of paper with a phone number scribbled on it and no idea of who it belongs to!
