Inspiration Monday: Nicole Richie

I love having Megan and Nora dress me every Monday.  This week's inspiration photo at two birds is Nicole Richie as her bohemian loving self.

I didn't have a sweet floral print romper or dress in my closet, so I did what any woman would do in similar circumstances.  I went shopping...and came home with this:

I found this floral summer dress at a local thrift store for $2.  There is no need to plunk down lots of cash when you're doing a challenge.  Remember, it's supposed to be fun!  I added a denim jacket, a pair of sandals, a handmade bracelet and my $1 sunglasses I bought at one of those everything's $1 stores:

And it all added up to this:

I am trying to love the natural white brightness of my skin!  I even have a little self-tanner left on here.  I would love to be natural and skip the tanners this summer.  It would save time and money.  I haven't decided yet.  So at any moment I could be stocking up on Natural Glow.  What about you?  Do you love tanned skin in the summer or do you go with what nature gave you?

My mother makes jewelry as a hobby.  She made this bracelet for me.

What I'm Wearing:
CATOS floral dress, $2, local thrift store
3/4 sleeve denim jacket, $20, Fashion Bug
Bracelet, made by my mother
Shoes, $5, Family Dollar
Sunglasses, $1, local only $1 store

Total Cost of Outfit:  $28

The dress is such a great buy, it looks so bright and cheery on you. Florals seems to look good on everyone. And the bracelet and sandals are so matching. I love how you put together all the thrifty items and make them look so fabulous together!

What a great find and for only two bucks - awesome! Living in So Cal it's hard to be accepting of my lily white skin. I do get a little color each year as I love to garden. Very Summery look - love it on you!

I LOVE the dress you found, that's so cute and I can't believe it was only $2!!!

I did the inspiration challenge too but I don't have my post ready yet.

Oh and btw, I totally found an amazing resale shop that I'm going to frequent now! I went there and probably got TOO much, but still spent way less than I would've if I'd gone to the mall. I can't wait to go again!

I just embrace my pale. I'm too afraid of self tanners, and looking streaky. I usually wear spf 50 sun block.

Hello! I love that dress on you! It looks great and only $2, awesome. I am a fan of color on my skin in the summer, but I am lucky though, in that I don't burn very often. I will use self tanner as a jump start at this time of year. See you again next Monday. :)

don't get me started on the "white" skin syndrome
i am a self tanner girl always, i mean seriously people make fun of my whiteness with it on, can you imagine if i didn't use it in the summer???

You look so cute! I love that dress. And I say, go with what nature gave you. Pale skin is nothing to be ashamed of, especially when it's so clear and pretty like yours! (Hey, in Victorian times, pale skin was coveted so much, women would put lead-based makeup on their faces, ingest a concoction that had arsenic in it just to achieve paleness, or bleed themselves. And pale skin used to be a sign that you were titled or royal: if you were pale, it meant you were wealthy enough to afford people to work for you.)

Hmm. Random facts of the day. :D
Anyway! Go with nature.

What a great find! You look great in it. And I wouldn't worry about whiteness. I'm skipping that, too :-)
