Day 17: Blowing away at Gratz Park

My daughter had a scholarship interview at Transylvania University today.  Soon after we arrived on campus, she was whisked away to sit in on classes, meet with an advisor and be interviewed.  The parents were given breakfast with the president and a campus tour.  Afterward,I wandered around the campus area and Gratz Park which borders the front of the campus.  Gratz Park is one of the oldest neighborhoods in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.  Beautiful old homes with gated courtyards, brick sidewalks and tree lined streets face a center park area with trees, benches and a fountain.

 Before I started my walk around the area, I opened my trunk and looked at my camera and tripod.  I'm supposed to get a photo every day of my outfit for the 30 for 30 Remix.  Normally, I take my photos in my house or on the porch or out in the yard.  And I kind of feel silly when a car drives by.  I have never taken one on location...until today.  I'm looking at the tripod and I ask myself am I going to do it or not?  So I decide to "man up" and I toss the tripod in its case over my shoulder, grab my camera and head toward the park.

Thankfully, no one is out.  No one in the yards, walking the sidewalk or wandering the park.  I set up the tripod facing one of the quaint iron gates and start snapping away.  Only one or two random cars drive by, but I don't look.  If I can't see them, they can't see me...right?

 Look at how windy it was!  I'm smiling for the camera, but inside I'm saying, "Auntie Em!  Auntie Em!"
