Inspiration/Jewelry Board and a Last Dash to the Remix

Tomorrow is the first day of the 30 for 30 Winter Closet Remix. Limiting myself to 30 clothing items for the next 30 days has got me thinking about accessories.  I saw this beautiful inspiration/jewelry board idea in a magazine and made myself one today for my necklaces and bracelets.

First off, you will need some magazine pages that speak to you, scissors, push pins (assorted sizes), and a bulletin board.
Arrange your pages however you like on your bulletin board and stick them in place with the push pins.  Use the large push pins to hold your necklaces and bracelets.  When you get done it will look something like this:
I found my white bulletin board at Goodwill.  Now I am trying to figure out some unique way to display my scarves, belts and hats.  Kind of like shopping in a store, except it's in your house.

Shopping in my house is the only place I'll be shopping for the next 30 days, since one of the rules of the 30 for 30 Challenge is to not shop all month.  But since I've already been snowed in forever, IF the weather turns pretty I may have to rethink that one!

Talking about the Challenge, I can see why people wait to the last minute to post their outfits.  After looking at Kendi's, I realized I did NOT have enough shoes.  So, out went 4 tops and 1 cardigan to make way for 2 pairs of boots and another top, skirt and pair of shoes.

So, here is my updated Winter Closet Remix:
9 tops:  Top row: Orange LIZ BAKER, gifted.  White Coldwater Creek, Goodwill.  Cream Eddie Bauer, Outlet Mall. Pink SAG HABOR, gifted.  Bottom row:  Brown FIRST issue, Goodwill.  Pink liz claiborne, Goodwill.  Brown Van Heusen, Outlet Mall.  Black/White Stripe MADISON STUDIO, Goodwill.  Black Van Heusen, Outlet Mall.
4 skirts:  Denim CHEROKEE, Target.  Black CRICKET LANE, Goodwill.  Khaki SONOMA, ???  Camo FADED GLORY, Walmart.  1 Dress:  Black norma kamali, walmart.com.
3 Cardigans:  Orange LIZ BAKER, gifted.  Blue Eddie Bauer, Outlet Mall.  Brown MADISON STUDIO, gifted.  1 jacket:  CHEROKEE denim jacket, Target.  2 vests:  Denim FADED GLORY, Goodwill.  Olive military style, rue21.
5 pairs of pants:  Gray dress BRIGGS, Goodwill.  Faded, Gray, and Vintage Wash FADED GLORY Bootcut jeans, Walmart.  Dark straight leg jeans, Walmart.
And now the shoes that caused all the problems:  Left to right:  Brown suede UGGS.  Black Patent UGGS.  Floral Corkys rain boots.  Brown ROCKET DOG sweater boots, all B&H Shoes.  Black Steve Madden, thrifted.

I have been blogging less than a month and here I am jumping into things left and right.  I made a trip to Walmart today to pick up a tripod and I hope I can figure it all out by tomorrow morning so I can start taking photos of my daily outfits.  Wish me luck!  If you're also taking the 30 for 30 Winter Closet Remix, feel free to post a comment and link back to your blog.

Oh man, I can't say it enough- getting a tripod has basically changed my life. Those rainboots are super fun looking, and a smart item to include, with all this crazy weather all over the place.

Thanks! I'm glad I bought the boots right before the remix started. Tripods ARE great! I bought a gorilla pad, too, because I read about it on another blog and it's been a big help.
